“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
Today I found myself struggling to smile and be positive. The stress of a family situation was weighing heavily on me to the point that I was neglecting my time with God. Even though I’m a pastor’s wife and attend church regularly, I still have struggles and sometimes I try to do things on my own…to solve problems on my own. I get so busy and bogged down that I find less and less time to read my Bible, which unintentionally pulls me away from God. So, with little energy or the desire to be productive, I realized my day…or my life would never improve unless I committed to know God more. God doesn’t promise to take away all the pain and heartaches we have to face throughout our lifetime, but if we purposely seek Him, He will hold our hand and guide us through each and every day, fighting our battles when we can’t fight for ourselves.
- “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help ” (Isaiah 41:13)
- “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
- “But we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Romans 5: 3-5)
I invite you to stop what you’re doing right now and turn to God. Talk to Him. Turn your worries and problems over to Him because you can trust Him to use “all things” to work together for the good. Make a commitment to read your Bible and meet with God daily. He wants to bless you with more joy and peace than you can imagine.
