“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” (Psalms 34:19)
Discouragement comes to even the strongest of people and may present itself differently in different seasons of life. Discouragement is a mental and emotional state of being…a negative feeling that sometimes works itself into our lives when we’re tired or under a lot of stress. During these times, we let our discouragement make us feel weak and inadequate, which allows Satan to creep into our lives to beat us down and make us feel like failures. If we’re not careful, we can start to believe the lies and sink deeper into depression. However, our worthiness, through Christ, has been sealed by the Holy Spirit and God’s word reminds us to cast our cares on Him and not be discouraged!
- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
- “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” (Psalms 55:22)
Easier said than done when you’re feeling down…right? But sometimes life is just hard. We live in a sinful world where people disappoint us and hurt us and we don’t always understand what God’s will is for our life. However, knowing God and staying in close fellowship with Him can help our troubles seem more bearable and He can give us a new vision for our life. The power of God’s unwavering love for you is the cure for overcoming your seasons of discouragement. Are you ready to trust in HIM?
- “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me. The Lord will vindicate me; your love, Lord, endures forever—do not abandon the works of your hands.” (Psalms 138:7-8)
